Brittany O'Grady has joined the cast of ABC's Epic, the new fairy tale-inspired series from Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

According to Deadline, O'Grady will costar as Luna, one of the show's leads. The character is described as "a fairytale princess made cynical by a broken heart. She doesn’t believe in love stories, which is unfortunate because she is about to find herself caught in the most epic one of all -- her own."

O'Grady's previous roles include Star Davis' half-sister, Simone, on Fox's musical drama series Star, along with Jesse -- a member of the Mu Kappa Epsilon sorority -- in the 2019 remake of the 1970s slasher/horror film Black Christmas. She also played a recurring role on The CW's supernatural mystery TV show The Messengers and starred in Apple TV+'s romantic dramedy series Little Voice.

Described as "a romantic anthology series that reinvents fairy tales for a new audience," Epic will reportedly focus on fairy tales previously adapted by Disney into animated films, similar to Once Upon a Time and its spinoff, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. O'Grady joins a cast that also includes Eleanor Fanyinka as The Seer, a character described as "a mysterious and playful figure who can lead you down the path of true love."

Developed by Once Upon a Time alum Brigitte Hales and executive produced by Horowitz and Kitsis, Epic was announced in Dec. 2019, prior to its pilot being ordered by ABC in Jan. 2021. The show is part of Horowitz and Kitsis' deal with ABC Signature, which the pair locked down in 2018.

Elsewhere, the pair are currently working on a limited prequel series to Disney's 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast centered on the characters Gaston and LeFou. Luke Evans and Josh Gad will reprise their roles from the movie for the show, which is slated to stream on Disney+. Reportedly titled The Little Town, the series will feature songs by Alan Menken and will explore "who [Gaston and LeFou] might have been, and how they became who they were," as Evans put it.

Created by Brigette Hales, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Epic stars Eleanor Fanyinka and Brittany O'Grady. It has yet to receive a release date.
