Oldboy director Park Chan-Wook has signed on to develop and a sci-fi thriller called Second Born, Variety reports. The project hails from David Lancaster's newly formed Rumble Films.
Written by David Jagernauth, Second Born is set in a future where neural microchips containing human consciousnesses are sold on the black market, thus enabling illegal body-swapping. The project marks Park's return to the big screen following a busy 2013, in which he produced Snowpiercer and directed Stoker.
The film will be produced by David Lancaster (Drive) through his Rumble Films, founded in July following his work on Whiplash and Nightcrawler.
No release date has been set for Second Born.
