Lil Nas X has released an animated music video for the latest remix of "Old Town Road" that's full of memes and geeky pop culture references.
Now on its 15th week on top of the Billboard charts, Lil Nas X has released a new video for the third remix of his country-trap crossover hit. Featuring country star Billy Ray Cyrus, rapper Young Thug and viral sensation Mason Ramsey, this video from animator Somehoodlum sees the unlikely collaborators raiding Area 51.
Based on the recent viral news that thousands were planning to raid Area 51, the animated video sees Lil Nas and his friends actually save Area 51—and its alien inhabitants—from a militia storming the government facility.
Along the way, they also encounter a purple bird with Thanos' head and a discarded Infinity Gauntlet with a complete set on Infinity Stones. While Internet music critic Anthony Fantano watching on as a hapless security guard, Keanu Reeves, dressed in Naruto attire, storms the gates with his best Naruto run in the bizarre clip.
Just a day after its release, the video has already been viewed over three million times on YouTube, which is a sure sign that the song's popularity hasn't waned in the face of its cultural saturation.
