The X-Men's ragtag group of mutant-rescue killers is undergoing a change in leadership. Weapon X #17 sees Sabretooth take the reigns of the team from Old Man Logan, while the Wolverine from a post-apocalyptic future recovers from injuries sustained in the series' most recent story arc. Old Man Logan chooses to rest comfortably in a floating wheelchair, similar to the one used by the founder of the X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier.

The cause of Old Man Logan's injuries came at the hands of Sabretooth, who helped Old Man Logan celebrate his birthday by carrying on the tradition of the two having a no-holds-barred throwdown.

Sabretooth officially becomes the team leader in Weapon X #17, but there are some members who don't offer him their seal of approval. Some of that has to do with a lack of trust in the "reformed" villain. In particular, Domino and Warpath appear ready to ditch the group, while Lady Deathstrike acknowledged how Sabretooth is savoring his new responsibilities.

The most eye-opening image is seeing Old Man Logan riding in a version of Professor X's wheelchair. Logan was a longtime student under Charles Xavier, even taking on the mantle of headmaster after Charles' death in Avengers vs. X-Men and opening the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning in Wolverine and the X-Men.

Weapon X #17 goes on sale May 2 from Marvel Comics.
