Netflix's upcoming live-action film adaptation of The Old Guard graphic novel features a small group of immortal warriors working as mercenaries. The latest trailer reveals that immortality is not as simple as it may seem.

The trailer features brief explanations from Andy and the rest of her gang, explaining to newcomer Nile Freeman that immortality does not equate to invincibility. The Old Guard is adapted from Image Comics' graphic novel, written by award-winning writer Greg Rucka and illustrated by Leandro Fernandez. It tells the story of Andy -- formerly known as Andromache of Scythia -- and her fellow warriors, who all found themselves immortal without any clear explanation.

Netflix's adaptation sees the immortals' unique state exposed. They are forced to fight and evade Copley and Merrick, who wish to acquire and capitalize on their immortality and are willing to use any means necessary to get what they want. It will be up to both Andy and former U.S. Marine Nile to put an end to the threat.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and co-produced with Skydance Media, The Old Guard stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, with Matthias Schoenaerts and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film will be available to stream on Netflix July 10.
