Obi-Wan Kenobi breakout star Vivien Lyra Blair expressed her hopes for a young Leia spinoff show.

In an interview with The Direct, Blair claimed she always gets asked about a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2. While she would love to be a part of a continuation of the series, she doesn't see how it could work since it's heavily implied that Obi-Wan and Leia do not interact again until the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. "And so, I think it's kind of like, how would I fit into that?" Blair said. However, the actor suggested she could have her own show instead of rejoining with co-star Ewan McGregor. "So we're kind of hoping for my own show there. We're kind of thinking it could be fun to do a show of Leia on Alderaan. And I really hope something like that could work out."

Princess Leia in the Star Wars Canon

In Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi, Blair portrayed a 10-year-old version of Princess Leia Organa, who Carrie Fisher first played in the original trilogy. In A New Hope, Leia implants a hologram message into R2-D2, asking Obi-Wan for help against the Empire. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) discovers this message and sets out for the "strange old hermit," setting up the events of the entire trilogy. After cementing her legacy in the iconic role throughout the 1970s and 80s, Fisher reprised her role in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. Following her death just months after wrapping production on The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm used deleted scenes and CGI to conclude her story in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.

Blair is not the only Obi-Wan Kenobi star who wants to revisit their character. Ever since the show finished, McGregor, who has played the titular Jedi since 1999, has continuously expressed how much he would love to return for a Season 2. "I was so happy to do it again, and so happy to work with Hayden again, and I hope we get the chance to do it again," he said. "In the old days, I would joke about, 'There must be a good story to tell between 'Episode III' and 'VI.'' But, it's true. I always felt that there was."

While Season 2 is not in active development, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy has stated she remains open to a potential Season 2. "I always hesitate to say no to more Obi-Wan Kenobi," she said. "Maybe we end up doing something that gets incorporated into some of the other stories that we're doing, or eventually into a movie, but who knows? But right now, it's still our standard standalone limited series."

Obi-Wan Kenobi is available to stream now on Disney+.
