Obi-Wan Kenobi's series premiere has been pushed back, but it's not all bad news.

Ewan McGregor revealed the Obi-Wan Kenobi premiere date was bumped from Wednesday, May 25 to Friday, May 27. However, the premiere will now consist of two episodes instead of just one.

Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with Ewan McGregor's exiled Jedi watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. Conflict will arise, however, as the Inquisitors do the Empire's bidding by hunting down any Jedi who evaded Order 66. One of those Inquisitors is Moses Ingram's Reva, who's described as "ruthlessly ambitious." The actor also noted that she, the Grand Inquisitor and Darth Vader "share a common dark-side goal. They're on the same team."

"I think it's no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was great to work with him again," McGregor recently said. "I'm not going to give away anything else about the storyline, only I think it's really going to satisfy Star Wars fans. I think we crafted, or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it."

"The thing that was most exciting was being on the set and watching the two of them get excited," Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said while discussing the reunion between McGregor and Christensen. "They hadn’t seen one another in a long time. I was surprised at just how incredibly emotional it was for each of them to find themselves back in these roles, and just realising how important Star Wars was to each of them. It was the beginning of their careers."

"It was so important to have Hayden be a part of this project because he is such a massive part of that character," writer Joby Harold said. "It was a priority to all of us that we did it with as much care as possible, so as to honor one of the greatest villains and antagonists in the history of entertainment."

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi arrive on Disney+ on May 27.
