Even outside of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, actors Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen fall on different sides of the Force when it comes to the coolest lightsaber color.

Featured on LadBible TV, the two actors faced off in a friendly game of Agree to Disagree wherein two individuals share their stances on certain topics. In this case, the questions were about the characters Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as the larger Star Wars universe. However, the host's claim that "red is the coolest color of lightsaber" caused a significant rift between the two actors, with each being on opposite ends of the spectrum. While Christensen strongly agreed that red is the cooler color, McGregor did not. Neither of the actors seemed surprised to see where the other had landed, with Christensen admitting, "I could be on both sides of this line, in truth."

Throughout the prequel Star Wars trilogy, both Anakin and Obi-Wan used a blue lightsaber as their primary weapon, with the color often associated with the light side of the Force. However, both had some experience wielding a green variety as seen in Obi-Wan's final battle with Darth Maul in Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and Anakin's participation in the large-scale Jedi battle against the droids on Geonosis in Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). It wasn't until Anakin's defeat of Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) that he would pick up a red lightsaber, and the signature weapon of a Force user aligned with the dark side, for the very first time.

Following Anakin Skywalker's betrayal and defeat at the hands of his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, he would go on to train in earnest as a Sith. Before his original movie appearance in 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, where he was voiced by James Earl Jones, he forged a red lightsaber to replace the blue one he lost to Obi-Wan. With his new weapon in hand, the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader would put it to great effect in service of the Empire.

Behind-the-scenes photos have shown Christensen training with a stunt double for future lightsaber battles in the Disney+ series. In a previous interview, Christensen revealed that his fighting style as Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi will be a bit more fast-paced, similar to that of the prequel trilogy. "We're more in line with the prequels than we are with how the fights are in the original trilogy," Christensen said. "These characters have aged, but not that much yet."

Obi-Wan Kenobi will see portions of Anakin's transformation into the fear-inspiring Darth Vader as well as Obi-Wan's attempts to reckon with his failures. Trying to keep out of trouble, Obi-Wan will be pulled back into the fight as Sith Inquisitors terrorize the local citizens of Tatooine in their search for the renegade Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming now exclusively on Disney+.
