The drama surrounding Disney+'s delayed Obi-Wan Kenobi series isn't as bad as it seems, from a certain point of view: the point of view of series star Ewan McGregor."It's not been put on hold, it's just been pushed back a little bit," McGregor said. "The scripts are excellent and they just want them to be better, so we just pushed it back. It's very dramatic, it would seem, online. There's all kinds of shit online about it but it's only just slid back a bit, but we're still shooting it, it'll still be aired when it was meant to be, and I'm really excited about it. It'll be fun to play again.

After a false rumor surfaced that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series had been canceled, it was revealed that the show had been put on indefinite hold while Lucasfilm searched for new writers to replace Hossein Amini, as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy was reportedly unhappy with the scripts. It was then revealed that the show's planned six-episode run had been cut to four.

As for the reason behind the overhaul, it's believed the story was too similar to The Mandalorian, with McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi serving as a protector to a young Luke Skywalker, and possibly even a young Leia Organa -- not unlike how Pedro Pascal's Mandalorian became a parental figure to the Child/Baby Yoda.

That said, if the star himself isn't worried about the series, perhaps fans will follow suit.
