This article contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, now streaming on Disney+.

The long-awaited Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi is here and fans can't get enough of Ewan McGregor's return as the Jedi Master.

Following the series' two-episode premiere, which chronicle Obi-Wan's life in solitude as he tries to keep both Luke and Leia Skywalker safe, fans took to social media to express their thoughts. Many were overwhelmed by the number of references to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, noting their general excitement to see McGregor reprise arguably his most iconic role. Others were heartbroken to see the beloved Jedi struggling to survive in a world that's actively hostile to his fallen order.

While McGregor's performance of Obi-Wan as a tired, broken protector earned plenty of praise from fans, the Inquisitors were also lauded. Most notably Moses Ingram's Reva, whom fans have deemed a terrifying yet compelling character in her own right. Given the conclusion of the show's second episode, many viewers are awaiting the highly-anticipated arrival of Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen), whom Obi-Wan senses through the Force.

McGregor has previously stated how much he enjoyed watching fans' responses to Obi-Wan Kenobi's trailers, despite many of their theories being incorrect. "I like to look at people's reaction to the trailers, the teaser trailer and then the real trailer," Mcgregor said. "And there are all these people that break it down and are telling their audience what the series is about. And, you know, mainly they're wrong. So, that's quite funny to watch."

While Obi-Wan Kenobi is billed as a limited series, McGregor has stated that he would happily return to the role in future Star Wars projects. The actor explained that he "got as much, or more" out of playing the self-exiled Jedi in the Disney+ series than in the entirety of the Prequel Trilogy. "That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is. ... [If] we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that," McGregor said.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are now streaming on Disney+ with new installments arriving every Wednesday.
