NYCC | 'Underworld' Franchise Adding Two Movies and a TV Series

Len Wiseman dropped a monster-filled bomb on Underworld fans while talking with IGN at New York Comic Con: Instead of one spinoff, he revealed there are actually two films -- one of which may star Kate Beckinsale -- and a television series in the works.

"There's a few things being developed right now," Wiseman says in the below video. "There's some characters that we really liked that's more of a spinoff like we did with Rise of the Lycans. And then another film is being developed in the works with Kate, possibly as well. And there's also a television series as well, so it's all expanding that universe in many ways."

He goes on to say that everything is in development at the same time and, some of the information floating around isn't true. In August, Lakeshore announced it had hired Cory Goodman to write a spinoff, and soon after, it was announced that Theo James' character from Underworld: Awakening would take the lead in the new film.
