While Supernatural may have come to an end after a record-breaking 15-season run, the adventures of Sam and Dean's parents in their youth are explored in the prequel spinoff series The Winchesters. Set during the '70s, the show follows Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) and John Winchester (Drake Rodger) as they learn more about their heritage as Hunters, taking on all sorts of monsters as they grow closer as a couple. The series is helmed by Supernatural writer Robbie Thompson, serving as the showrunner and executive producer, along with fellow executive producers Danneel Ackles and Jensen Ackles -- with the latter reprising his role as Dean Winchester to narrate the paranormal saga his parents embarked on in their youth.

The cast and crew of The Winchesters, including Donnelly, Rodger, Thompson, and Jensen and Danneel Ackles, visited CBR's media room at New York Comic Con 2022 for an exclusive interview ahead of the series premiere. The cast and crew talked about shining a new light into the legacy of Supernatural, revealed how the series leads developed their chemistry, and teased what fans can expect when The Winchesters premieres this October on The CW.

Developed for television by Robbie Thompson, The Winchesters premieres Oct. 11 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.
