Eric Powell celebrated the 15th anniversary of "The Goon" earlier this year with a party and a miniseries, "The Goon: Occasion For Revenge." During this weekend's New York Comic Con, Dark Horse Comics announced the next miniseries -- due February 2015 -- titled "Once Upon A Hard Time."

According to the press release issued by Dark Horse, the miniseries "has major consequences for the Goon and his supporting cast" and takes place after the tragic events of "Occasion of Revenge":

"The witch coven believes that control of the unnamed town will soon be in their grasp and the Goon's tragic soul will contribute to the curse that increases their power. But has their plot destroyed the Goon or created a monster too savage for them to withstand?"

In an interview with CBR earlier this year, Powell talked about Ramona, The Goon's newly-introduced girlfriend, and teased her role in "Revenge," as well as the upcoming "Hard Time."

"It's the first time, I think, for either of these characters -- The Goon and Ramona -- that either of them have found someone that just kind of accepts them. It's always building up that fear that whenever you're writing a story, you want people to feel that relationship, and feel consequence behind it, too. I've found it kind of hard, because I have to build this up over a four issue miniseries. I'm trying to establish this relationship as quickly as possible, but also give it substance. I don't want to go like, 'Here's The Goon's girlfriend.' I'm trying to build it up and help people understand how it happened and everything," said Powell. "[Ramona] plays a significant role in the story, and is a pretty important character in this series and the next."

"The Goon: Once Upon A Hard Time" #1 is out February 4, 2015.
