Update: Lionsgate has now officially released the "Power Rangers" trailer.

The first trailer for the eagerly anticipated "Power Rangers" movie has leaked online ahead of this afternoon's panel at New York Comic Con. The teaser was posted early by accident on the film's Facebook page, and was quickly circulated on Twitter. Lionsgate has begun asking websites to remove the embedded trailer, but the video can still be found on social media.

Directed by Dean Israelite, the reboot of Saban Entertainment's long-running action-adventure franchise follows five ordinary high school kids who learn that their small town of Angel Grove -- to say nothing of the world -- stands to be obliterated by an alien threat. Quickly discovering they're the only ones who can save Earth, they have to overcome their real-life issues to band together as the Power Rangers before time runs out.
