On Thursday at New York Comic Con 2022, McFarlane Toys is hosting a panel to discuss and reveal what products and figures are in store for the future. Founder Todd McFarlane himself is in attendance, along with Marketing Manager AJ Morris, Senior Brand Manager Brian Walters, Licensing Vice President Cristy Collins and Stephen Tetrault.

The panel will discuss new merchandise inspired by various franchises, including DC Multiverse, Warhammer, My Hero Academia, Disney's Mirrorverse, Avatar and McFarlane's very own Spawn, and CBR is here LIVE to bring you all the news!

Attending fans sat down in the panel to be greeted by McFarlane, finding exclusive collectibles inspired by DC's 2011 storyline Flashpoint waiting for each of them in their seats.

McFarlane thanked and introduced each of McFarlane Toys' aforementioned team members as the panel kicked off.

For the first announcement, the company is bringing back its Movie Maniacs line, including a figure of Ted Lasso from the series of the same name. Other figures shown from the line and Warner Bros. properties include Superman Bugs Bunny and the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.

Next was "The World of Pandora," light-activated collectibles inspired by Avatar (2009) and the upcoming sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, in theaters later this year. The figures are inspired both by the human characters and the Na'vi tribes from the franchise, including mechs and Pandora's various creatures.

"We really wanted to build the world of Pandora so you could take it into your home," said Morris, discussing how the figures are blacklight-activated.

"The Banshees are the new airplane," McFarlane said, talking about how exciting the Avatar figures will be to play with. Continuing to discuss the banshee's immense details, McFarlane explained how the figures change colors, include swappable heads, and can be ridden by the Na'vi figures.

"Todd, you wanted to show one off?" was said to McFarlane, as he eagerly grabbed the Banshee to show it off to the crowd. The lights were shut off on the stage to demonstrate how the figure illuminates under a blacklight. "They were super hyped to have that light LED effect," McFarlane said of Disney's reaction to the figures. It was said during the panel that the majority of the figures are equipped with the blacklight LEDs, which are said to run so long they can be left on all day.

"My career is based on paper and plastic... It's an honorable profession," said McFarlane of his comics and toyline background.

The next announcement was met with "Ahhhs" from the audience: a new Demon Slayer line from McFarlane Toys. Displayed on-screen and listed as arriving in spring 2023, the toys range from 5" and 7" scale figures, with fan-favorite characters like Tanjiro Kamodo.

Then, the DC Multiverse slide showed up on the screen, resulting in thunderous applause. McFarlane made a point to note how the company's DC Multiverse line was one of the most popular to exist over the last year, beating out the company's other competitors.

"The library was very, very big," McFarlane said.

Seven figures were revealed for DC Multiverse: Duke Thomas/Signal, Catwoman (purple outfit), Batman from the Hush storyline, the Joker from his recent solo series and more. Two megafigures shown were Mongul and Frankenstein.

Also met with excitement were figures inspired by The Dark Knight trilogy -- Scarecrow, Batman, Joker and Two-Face. Collecting all four allows for a build-a-figure: Tom Hardy's Bane.

Revealed after The Dark Knight and labeled a nostalgic line, the '66 Batman television series will be getting new figures, including Adam West's Batman, Egg Head, and black-and-white versions of the Riddler and Robin inspired by old-school television. Met with laughter was the reveal of other villains from the show, including King Tut, Radioactive Batman and Two-Face (which comes with his collectible coin).

"For those looking for a holiday gift," said moderator Tetrault of a '66 Batman lunchbox with Batman, Robin, Penguin and Joker figures, met with excitement by McFarlane as he discussed his days of owning a Batman lunchbox when he was younger.

Up next were McFarlane Toys' Super Powers line featuring retro-looking figures like Batman, Superman and Darkseid, as well as a plane for Superman with extendable, boxing-glove-like arms and the Batwing for the Caped Crusader to be placed into. "That thing is so goofy that it's awesome," McFarlane said of Superman's plane, noting how it features a cell for villains to be placed into.

Also shown from the Super Powers line were Nightwing, Wonder Woman and Deathstroke. Other vehicles featured were the Batmobile and Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet.

Next up was Page Punchers, a line focused on exclusive comics accompanying small figures. Set for spring 2023 is the release of Aquaman, Black Manta, Prince Orm and Aqualad Jackson Hyde, each coming with an exclusive cover. Other characters include Batman from Hush, Batman Beyond, Batman from DC Rebirth, Lex Luthor and more.

From DC Direct, these new figures were shown: Batman Jace Fox, Harley Quinn's Future State design, another Batman figure with his cape flying all about, and the Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. Also from DC Direct's designer series were Batgirl and the Joker in artist Greg Capullo's design from Batman's "Death of the Family" storyline.

"Moving onto Spawn," the moderator said.

One megafigure from the line is Omega Spawn, though other figures were shown as well, including Medieval Spawn, Monolith, and Sinn. McFarlane likened Sinn to DC's Lex Luthor, noting that he wants to take Sinn in a similar direction in the future. Page Puncher releases inspired by Spawn were also shown, including Spawn, Anti-Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn and Auger, including collectible covers as well.

Met with applause was the cover of the upcoming Batman/Spawn crossover set for late 2022, and the reveal that McFarlane Toys will be making figures inspired by the story. According to McFarlane, a condition he had to make the crossover was that if any toys were to be made based on it, he would be the one to make them.

The panel then opened up to fan questions, with McFarlane promising that questions "deemed worthy" would grant the fan a free toy. The creator walked right into the crowd to personally hand the microphone to fans.

The first question was about potentially creating swappable heads that could be used across all figures. McFarlane mentioned that he would be getting "technical" to answer that question, bringing up how they might allow for lateral movements and so on, but the company isn't working on these at this time.

The next fan asked about bringing super groups to McFarlane Toys, mentioning the evil Batmen from Dark Knights: Metal, the Legion of Super-Heroes and other teams.

For another fan, McFarlane brought the microphone into the crowd so they could ask their question, holding up a Gunslinger Spawn figure with the character riding on a horse for them to have and enjoy.

"You're up, you're up," McFarlane said to a young fan who mentioned getting into McFarlane Toys as a result of the DC Multiverse line. He asked about the company making new Superman designs, which McFarlane revealed that since not everyone around the globe reads comic books, to sell more Superman figures and designs, "They have to look cool on the shelf."

After, McFarlane answered a question and delved into a breakdown of clay vs. plastic toys, as well as the toys' more affordable prices. "I don't need more of your money," McFarlane said with a chuckle, explaining why the figures are sold at the price point they are available. The following fan then went up to the microphone and actually thanked McFarlane for the toys' price points.

McFarlane then went to the middle of the room to speak to another fan and answer their question, but stopped for a moment to point out his wife in attendance, thanking her in front of the crowd and attributing his best ideas to her, including Spawn. McFarlane then expressed his desire to make a Spider-Man toy, especially figures inspired by his own artwork made for the Marvel web-slinger and his comics.

And with one more fan question and McFarlane teasing that another Kickstarter of his will be on the horizon, the panel ended.
