NYCC | Attack the Block Could Get Sequel, TV Series or U.S. Remake

If the darkly funny Attack the Block left you wanting more, you may be in luck, as the acclaimed film is poised to become a sci-fi action franchise.

Written and directed by Joe Cornish, the 2011 movie follows a gang of tough inner-city kids tasked with protecting their South London turf from a terrifying alien invasion.

At New York Comic Con, Cornish confirmed to IFC.com that there are several paths available to Attack the Block, including a sequel, a television series and an American remake.

"We've had approaches for a remake and a sequel," he said. "We've had approaches for a TV show to spin off it. But it's very early days, you know. So it's not out of the question but very early days, and I'd certainly like to do something different for my next thing if I get a chance to do a next thing."
