Ash and crew have barely begun the second season of their ongoing fight against the deadites in "Ash vs. Evil Dead", but Starz has already signalld its confidence in the series by ordering up a third helping of the horror comedy.

Of course, the news won't satisfy series star Bruce Campbell, who has already said he is holding out for five seasons of "Ash vs. Evil Dead." And with viewership of the Season 2 premiere on October 2 at 733,000, up a reported a 17% percent from the first season's opener, prospects for its ongoing continuation look reasonably good.

The announcement, first reported by Deadline, comes in the wake of the show's New York Comic Con panel, in which cast member Lucy Lawless proved she can still pull off her signature Xena cry.

"Ash vs. Evil Dead" serves as a television sequel to the first two films in the "Evil Dead" series, starring Campbell as Ashley "Ash" Williams, who's life is changed forever when he comes into contact with Kandarian demons. Season two sees Ash returning to his old home town and having to contend with not just more deadites, but also his own father, played by former "The Six Million Dollar Man" star Lee Majors.

Featuring Campbell, Lawless, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago and Lee Majors, "Ash vs. Evil Dead" airs Sunday nights at 8pm on Starz.
