While Stan Lee has been known for his boisterous convention appearances almost longer than he served as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, the 93-year-old legend has been winding down his gung-ho convention calendar in recent years.

And today, powerhouse East Cost show New York Comic Con announced on its homepage that October's 2016 installment will the the last year that Lee appears at the show.

The move is only the most recent from Lee, who has occasionally had to cancel public appearances in recent years for illness. However, the Marvel mainstay continues to appear at numerous cons on his homebase West Coast including San Diego Comic-Con and the LA-centric Stan Lee's Comikaze that his company has partnered with in recent years. But for fans back East who want to hobnob with the writer, this may be your last chance without having to take a trip of your own.
