NYCC ’13 | C is for ‘Cookie,’ while ‘T’ is for ‘T-shirt’

Conventions are always a great place to see creators and celebrities, but it’s rare that you’re given the opportunity to meet a Muppet. At New York Comic Con, Cookie Monster — and his “assistant” David Rudman — will appear Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the WeLoveFine booth (#1836), where you can also buy an exclusive NYCC steampunk Cookie Monster shirt.

Cookie Monster isn’t the only special guest appearing at their booth:

• Wendy Pini, co-creator of ElfQuest, will be signing at WeLoveFine on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. WeLoveFine will have an NYCC-exclusive ElfQuest design for sale.

• Kelly Sue DeConnick, writer of Captain Marvel and Avengers Assemble, will be at the booth from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. She is part of the Mighty Fine Partners program, art-directing T-shirt designs featuring Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman and more. DeConnick donates her curation commission for this project to the Girls Leadership Institute, “to support middle school girls to develop and strengthen the skills necessary to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

In addition, WeLove Fine will have an NYCC-exclusive Star Trek shirt, the third in its very popular “Khaaaaan!” Captain Kirk series, celebrating a big bite out of the Big Apple. Check out the exclusive shirts below.
