DC officially crowns Nubia as the new Queen of Themyscira this May.

In March 2021's Infinite Frontier #0, Hippolyta -- Queen of the Amazons of Themyscira -- abdicated the throne and appointed Nubia as her successor. DC has now announced Nubia: Coronation Special #1, which, as the title implies, celebrates Nubia's actual coronation. The 48-page one-shot is due to hit comic shops on Tuesday, May 3, taking place after the events of the upcoming Trial of the Amazons crossover event.

You won't want to miss this moment in Wonder Woman history that is certain to influence stories for years to come!

Created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck, Nubia first appeared as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince's sister in Wonder Woman #204, cover-dated February 1973. The original Earth-One version of Nubia last appeared in Supergirl #9, cover-dated January 1974. An alternate version of Nubia appeared in 1979's Super Friends #25, which would prove to be the character's final DC comic book appearance for 20 years. Nubia eventually returned to the world of DC, making her first post-Crisis appearance (under the name Nu'bia) in 1999's Wonder Woman Annual #8 as part of the New Earth continuity. Post-Flashpoint, Nubia made the jump to DC's Prime Earth continuity in 2019's Wonder Woman #75.
