Toy Story 4 introduced Forky, the bundle-of-nerves spork with googly eyes that joins Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang after being created by Bonnie. Director Josh Cooley has now revealed the slightly NSFW way the character came to be named.

In an interview with USA Today, Cooley was asked why the plastic utensil wasn't named "Sporky," despite clearly being a spork. During the character creation process, Cooley determined Sporky's owner, Bonnie, was a little too young to know what a spork was. Cooley's young son -- who was 5 or 6 -- suggested Bonnie dub the toy "Forkface."

"Well, we can't say that," Cooley told his son. Thus, "Forky" was picked, and the character had his name.

While Forky's existential crisis on why he was given life and if he even deserves to live might be a bit heavier than Pixar's normal plot points, audiences have been receptive to Bonnie's newest toy and the latest entry in Pixar's beloved franchise, as the movie opened to huge numbers.
