This is not the first audiences have heard of the documentary project. When the Nope Collector's Edition was announced, Universal Pictures also teased the release of Shadows: The Making of Nope, which will not be included in the upcoming DVD release. It was described as a 56-minute behind-the-scenes documentary devling into Peele's vision for the movie and his filmmaking process. It will also reportedly answer some of the questions viewers might have about the film and its eccentric world.

Nope is the third film created by Peele, whose directorial debut, Get Out, continues to receive widespread praise from critics and audiences. The film won an Academy Award and was nominated three, along with two Golden Globe nominations. It was selected by the American Film Institute as one of the top 10 best films of 2017. Nope was praised though not as well-received by critics. Despite this, the film was a box office success, earning $171 million against a budget of $68 million.

Where Could Nope Go?

Nope stars actors Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun and Brandon Perea. It follows two siblings, ranch owners, who enlist the help of a tech salesman and an infamous documentarian to capture video evidence of an unidentified flying object.

Peele previously suggested Nope could get a sequel film, though did not confirm any plans. When asked about a mystery character who did not make the final cut, Peele said, "People are doing a lot of interesting detective work, is what's going on... the story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I'm glad people are paying attention." He then added, "We're not over telling all of these stories."

The Nope Collector’s Edition is available on Digital, and is scheduled to be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD on Oct. 25.
