Christopher Nolan's third Batman film may not have a title or a start date, but it does have a release date: July 20, 2012.

The Dark Knight opened on July 18, 2008, and went on to earn more than $1.3 billion in theaters worldwide, so perhaps Warner Bros. figures it's a lucky month for Nolan and the Batman franchise.

However, as Heat Vision notes, summer 2012 is shaping up to be a very crowded -- and extremely geeky -- movie season, with The Avengers on May 4, Battleship on May 25, the Star Trek sequel on June 29 and the Spider-Man reboot on July 3.

Development has barely begun, so few details have been released about the next Batman movie. About all we know for sure is that Nolan is working on the script with David S. Goyer, and that the villain won't be Mr. Freeze.
