“Guardians of the Galaxy" writer/director James Gunn has dispelled a rumor that took off late Tuesday which posited he was poised to tackle another film franchise for Disney.

Gunn took to Facebook to quell a theory that has been spreading online, after he posted a picture of himself and his friend Jimmy Urine (lead singer of the electropunk band Mindless Self Indulgence) posing on a lifesize Tron lightcycle.

“[O]ver the past few days I have been getting more and more messages and tweets asking if I am involved in a Tron sequel,” begins the Facebook message. He then went on to debunk website Moviepilot’s statement that he’d once discussed working on such a project during a Facebook Live session “which never was, and never happened.”

“I was simply taking a photo with a cool prop,” he adds, before enumerating several sequel projects in which he has no involvement despite tangential evidence.

“And, so I don't fail to mention it, in 2007 I attended a party where Pauly Shore was, and am also not attached to Encino Man 2,” Gunn informs us, before concluding, “Have a wonderful evening, all.”
