Many Wii games are getting Nintendo Switch remastered versions. This includes fan-favorite games such as The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, and more.

Even though fans are delighted by the upcoming remastered versions, there are still some games that fans wish also got the chance for getting remastered versions for various reasons. This includes the gorgeous aesthetics of The Last Story, the crafty construction of Kirby's Epic Yarn, and more.

10 The Last Story Should've Gotten As Much Attention As Xenoblade Chronicles

The Last Story

The Last Story was a JRPG developed by Mistwalker for the Wii, released in 2011 in Japan and 2012 for Australia, Europe, and North America. The game focused on a young man named Zael, part of a group of mercenaries, who receives the mysterious power of the Outsider and gets swept into a trans-continental war.

The Last Story got considerable attention, along with Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower, due to a fan campaign called Operation Rainfall. Fans of The Last Story want the game to be remastered for the Switch, partially due to the beautiful aesthetics the game had during its time on the Wii. Additionally, Xenoblade Chronicles recently got a remastered version on the Switch called Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, so fans hope this means that The Last Story will get the attention that Xenoblade Chronicles received.

9 Fans Crave A Colorful Remaster Of Super Paper Mario

Super Paper Mario and Princess Peach explore

Super Paper Mario was released back in 2007 for the Wii. This game featured unforgettable characters like Tippi, foes such as Count Bleck and Dimentio, and more in this side-scrolling platformer/RPG hybrid. It was also incredibly colorful in its aesthetics, which delighted many fans. Fans who adored the game want an HD remastered version for the Switch.

Considering that past Mario games were also given remastered versions for the Switch during the past year, they might give Super Paper Mario a chance to be remastered for the Switch, especially for those who might have been disappointed by Paper Mario: The Origami King.

8 Pokémon Battle Revolution Is The Perfect Candidate For A Remaster

Pokemon Battle Revolution

Considering that the Pokémon franchise is working on multiple projects, including Diamond and Pearl remakes and an open-world exploration game, they might consider remastering Pokémon Battle Revolution. This was the first Pokémon game released on the Wii and featured eleven different coliseums where players could battle each other with all sorts of Pokémon.

As the title suggests, this game focused exclusively on Pokémon battling. Fans of the franchise desire a remastered version of this game to appear on the Switch in the future to improve its aesthetic appearance and graphics.

7 WarioWare: Smooth Moves Would Be A Fun Party Game For All

Warioware Smooth Moves

Warioware: Smooth Moves was a fairly popular party game when it was released on the Wii in 2006. It was also re-released in 2011 in Europe as part of the Nintendo Selects program. This game consisted of many quirky microgames in quick succession, and helped to demonstrate unorthodox ways to utilize the Wii Remote's motion control capabilities.

While a brand new entry in the WarioWare series was just announced for the Switch at E3 2021, that doesn't mean that previous entries in the series shouldn't also be re-released for the platform, and Smooth Moves would be a fun game to revisit (in HD) from the Wii's early days. It was certainly better than the disappointing Game & Wario for the Wii U, which unfairly turned many people off of the franchise.

6 Sonic Unleashed's Deadly Mechanics Would Improve On The Switch

Sonic the hedgehog halfway turned into a werehog

Sonic Unleashed is considered one of the darker games in the Sonic franchise, due to Sonic the Hedgehog's werewolf-esque transformation after coming in contact with the Dark Gaia. Fans had a mixed reception when it came to this game. Some enjoyed that the franchise tried digging into a darker side of the series, while others preferred the more usually-cheery atmosphere the games had.

Considering that one of the other Sonic games first released on the Switch, Sonic Colors, will get a remastered version in September 2021, Sonic Unleashed could be the next Wii game in the franchise to get a remastered version for the system as Sega's iconic mascot continues to gear up for his big 30th anniversary celebration this year.

5 Kirby's Epic Yarn Would Be Adorable To Play On The Switch

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Kirby's Epic Yarn was another game that fans enjoyed playing on the Wii. This game consisted of Kirby ending up in a yarn-like world, including Kirby himself becoming a creature made of yarn among all the adorable beings in this realm. His goal was to help Prince Fluff defeat Yin Yarn, the game's antagonist.

Players enjoyed the unique aesthetics and graphics of this platformer. If this game received a Switch remastered version in the future, fans would find delight in the visuals once more, but in HD versions or more-enhanced gameplay. The Wii U game Yoshi's Wooly World already showcased how adorable yarn-based games can look in HD, and an Epic Yarn remaster would also be a great companion to the Switch's Yoshi's Crafted World.

4 Harvest Moon: Magical Melody Would Be A Great Remaster For Completionists

A player fishes in Harvest Moon: Magical Melody for the GameCube

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody was quite a musical game. As the player progressed through tasks like cutting trees, tending to their farm, and interacting with other characters, they would gain musical notes that could be formed into instruments. If the player gained enough notes, they could awaken the Harvest Goddess.

However, the full game could only be completed by gaining all one-hundred music notes. In addition to the musical aspect of the game, players also enjoyed the colorful cast of characters (figuratively and literally). If the game got a remastered version, fans hope that they will have the option to play as a girl (as this was omitted from the Wii version, unlike the GameCube version at the time) as well as enhanced visuals.

3 Metroid: Other M Would Be A Visual Spectacle If Remastered For The Switch

Metroid Other M promotional image

Metroid: Other M was released in 2010 for the Wii and is, as of now, the most recent entry in the core Metroid series. The upcoming Metroid Dread will finally change that, as will Metroid Prime 4 when that finally releases— but after an 11 year wait, fans want all the Metroid goodness for the Switch that they can get and remasters are a great way to do that.

Many players enjoyed the gameplay of Other M , though Samus' characterization was a sore spot for a lot of longtime Metroid fans. If this game received a remastered version for the Switch, the great visuals the game already had would be much improved, and some of the more irritating things about the original— like the overly-finnicky scanning sections— could be tweaked to make for a better experience overall. Remasters don't only have to be about improving graphics, after all.

2 Nights: Journey Of Dreams Would Be An Even Greater Visual Feast On The Switch

Nights Journey Of Dreams

Nights: Journey Of Dreams was praised by fans for its aesthetics, boss battles, and special effects. This adventure game follows two children who, with the help of NiGHTS, must stop Wizeman from escaping the dream world and invading the real world.

However, there was mixed reception when it came to the actual gameplay due to some difficulties with the controls. If this game received a remastered version for the Switch, this game would have the opportunity to have easier controls and enhanced visuals, becoming a visual feast for all to play and maybe even set the stage for an actual new game in the long-underappreciated series.

1 Fans Want The JRPG Tales Of Graces To Get A Remastered Version

Tales Of Graces

Tales Of Graces was released back in 2009 on the Wii. It was also ported to the PlayStation 3 under the title Tales Of Graces f. The game follows a boy named Asbel who befriends an amnesiac girl and witnesses her death, only to mysteriously reunite with her seven years later.

Players enjoyed the gameplay and characters but disliked the longer loading times compared to other JRPGs. If this game received a Switch remastered version, it could improve on the already-spectacular visuals and gameplay, and hopefully lower the loading time onscreen.
