After several months of silence, Nintendo Switch Online is bringing three classic Super Nintendo games to subscribers through the SNES app on Wednesday, July 28th. Joining the SNES titles already available, Claymates, Jelly Boy and Bombuzal each promise to bring plenty of challenges, puzzles and exciting explosions to the console. These three titles may not be well-known, but the fact that Nintendo continues building a vast library of nostalgic games available to its Switch Online subscribers shows promise for the future.

In order to access numerous classic Super Nintendo titles and rediscover these three lesser-known games, Switch Online subscribers can download the SNES app from the eShop for free. Switch Online offers over a hundred classic titles from the NES and SNES, opening the gateway to a multitude of nostalgic games to satisfy cravings for days of old.

Claymates

Claymates Super Nintendo

Released in 1994, platformer Claymates follows a boy named Clayton whose scientist father invents a serum that turns people into clay animals. When a mad witch doctor named Jobo demands the serum, Clayton's father refuses and Jobo turns Clayton into a ball of clay before stealing both his father and the serum. Despite being made of clay, Clayton embarks on an epic journey spanning multiple continents and even venturing into space on a mission to save his father.

Clayton can transform himself into five different clay animals by finding and using drops of serum, with each animal proving useful to specific types of terrain. Racing against time to save his father and the serum, Clayton's adventures lead him through dangerous obstacles that leave him vulnerable when he's not transformed.

Jelly Boy

Jelly Boy Super Nintendo

Puzzle-platformer Jelly Boy was originally only available in Europe, with its intended U.S. release being canceled. It will become available for U.S gamers to play for the first time with its Switch Online release. This side-scrolling game features an amorphous jelly candy that wakes up in a mysterious factory and needs to find a way out. In order to take the elevator to the roof, Jelly Boy must explore the six worlds within the factory, transforming his body into shapes and tools, like a submarine or balloon, to help him achieve his tasks.

Each stage runs on a timer, and Jelly Boy needs to not only navigate his way through safely before the timer runs out but discover hidden puzzle pieces to help him reach his goal and escape the factory.

Bombuzal

Bombuzal for Super Nintendo

Originally released for SNES as KablooeyBombuzal was available on numerous gaming consoles. It features 130 levels of puzzles the player character has to navigate in order to destroy all the bombs and proceed to the next level, but destroying bombs isn't as easy as it sounds. With multiple bomb types and sizes on each level, only the smallest bombs can be set off without killing the player character, meaning larger bombs need to be detonated through a chain reaction to avoid a disastrous and messy death.

Bombs can be picked up and moved to other areas, but only if they are on railing tiles. To make matters even more deadly and exciting, everything must be completed before the timer runs down. Two enemies occasionally appear on more challenging levels, and though they don't actively pursue the player, contact with either of them results in death.
