The recently announced Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) upgrades the original Switch's design in several significant ways. The biggest change is the inclusion of a 7-inch OLED screen, an improvement over the original 6.2-inch LCD screen. Other updates include a larger, adjustable stand and a dock that comes fitted with a built-in LAN port.

The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) managed to both excite and disappoint fans upon its announcement. While not boasting the significant hardware updates many expected, fans are pleased with the console's screen, dock and stand upgrades. The new version continues Nintendo's trend of releasing iterative versions of its handheld consoles, a practice that dates back to the original GameBoy.

Many disappointed fans expected Nintendo to announce a new version of the console, casually dubbed the Switch Pro, that featured significant hardware updates and a 4K output. Many fans also expressed their dissatisfaction that the battery of the Nintendo Switch was not upgraded through this new model. It's possible that Nintendo still has plans for a device such as this in the future, but nothing has been confirmed.
