The Nintendo 64 is regarded as a classic console by gaming fans, thanks in huge part to its memorable library of gaming hits, like Super Mario 64 or Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. The console was also unique thanks to Nintendo sticking to their guns at the time by producing a cartridge-based console in a gaming world that had started to fully embrace CDs.

It's tragic, however, that out of the N64's library of 393 titles, its output of Marvel-related titles is dismal, especially compared to its output with the SNES. But this shouldn't deter Marvel gamers from checking out the N64, as there's a number of titles any Marvel fan would like.

10 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

Tony Hawk Pro Skater finally made its triumphant return to multiple gaming consoles with the shredding Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remake 1+2. But for any Marvel fans that have booted up their N64, or just curious about the true origins of the Hawk series, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 is a great start.

Besides being a great game in the series, THPS 2 is one of the few N64 games with a direct link to Marvel, as it's got Spider-Man as a secret unlockable character. Given his amazing acrobatic abilities, seeing Spidey on a skateboard isn't that far-fetched, which more than some could say for next unlockable character in the direct sequel.

9 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3

The N64 didn't just get Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2, but also received a port of the third game in the series. Again, the original trilogy is a classic to have for the N64 and serves as an interactive history lesson on the origins of the series. But Marvel fans will want to check it out for a certain Adamantium-laced X-Man.

That's right, Wolverine features as an unlockable character in this entry, although Marvel never officially listed skateboarding as one his powers. If fans think the image of the mutant skating is too good to pass up, then they'll also enjoy unlocking Star Wars' Darth Maul in the game as well.

8 Super Smash Bros.

Marvel fans who enjoyed the hyper combo shenanigans and crossover appeal of the Marvel Vs. Capcom series will be disappointed at the lack of Capcom fighters featuring Marvel's roster. However, all is not lost, as the N64 served as the debut for the first Super Smash Bros, which today has taken the crossover frenzy set by Marvel into deeper territory.

Technical wizards sung praises for Melee. And current pros are dazzling in Ultimate. But the very first entry in the series is, arguably, at least as solid and fun as the rest of the series. And its easy-to-play, hard-to-master gameplay is addicting like any Smash title. It deserves to be experienced.

7 Turok: Dinosaur Hunter

The Marvel Universe has some untapped potential with having a game that takes place within the Savage Land. Imagine the X-Men or Avengers having to tackle not only supervillains but also dinosaurs. For any Marvel fan craving an adventure only comic books could produce, look no further than Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Based on the Acclaim Comics character, the game is a first-person shooter, starring the Native American warrior Turok whose adventure includes taking out some of the dinosaur kingdom's most deadly predators. The game and its sequels were considered hallmarks of the N64. Turok is currently playable on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

6 Xena: Warrior Princess: The Talisman Of Fate

Marvel fans who loved fighting games will be disappointed to know that the N64's output of fighting games was paltry. There were a few standout titles like Killer Instinct and Super Smash Bros, but compared to the PlayStation and Saturn, N64 owners had to dig.

Fortunately, gamers could encounter hidden gems like Xena: Warrior Princess: Talisman Of Fate, a 3D arena fighter with tight controls and decent graphics. The game was developed by Titus games, the same company that surprisingly developed the infamous Superman 64 game. The game should also scratch the warrior fantasy itch of Marvel fans who dig the Conan comic series.

5 Shadow Man

Going back to the realm of comic book-related games like Turok, the N64 also had the action-adventure title Shadow Man. Based on the Valiant Comics character, the game centered on Michael LeRoi aka Shadow Man, a warrior who fights serial killers and supernatural threats with the use of Voodoo Magic.

The game released on several other platforms including the PlayStation and Dreamcast, and a HD Remastered game is on the way for the current generation of consoles. For Marvel fans who fondly remembered the adventures of Ghost Rider and Man-Thing during the Marvel Knights line, Shadow Man will not disappoint fans.

4 Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away called the "90s," the Star Wars franchise had a plethora of comics, books, and video games that provided an extended universe for the original film trilogy. However that all changed when Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars and wiped away all of the lore from those titles.

The latest batch of Star Wars comics is produced by Marvel. So current Star Wars comics fans will want to give the N64's collection of Star Wars titles a chance, including Rogue Squadron. Fans get the chance to live out their X-Wing dreams in this highly rated arcade-style flight shooter, in an early game that did justice to Rebel Pilots.

3 Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire

Star Wars: Shadow Of The Empire isn't just considered to be an excellent Star Wars spin-off, but in some circles, it's also regarded as an N64 classic. It's easy to see why with its tight gameplay, variety of levels, and interaction with the main Star Wars cast.

The game stars mercenary Dash Rendar, in a side story that takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. The story isn't considered canon anymore. But the in-story game is easy to follow. And for Marvel fans that have been enjoying the Star Wars line of comics, Shadows Of The Empire is highly recommended.

2 Mega Man 64

For Marvel fans who are looking for a fun, youthful, feel-good adventure in a similar neighborhood as the 2016 Champions or Power Pack series, or if they're looking for a game comparable to the Legend Of Zelda series, then Mega Man 64 is definitely it. The game also came out on the PlayStation, but the N64 version actually looks better thanks to smoother textures.

Players take control of Mega Man Volnutt on his 3D quest to find the Mother Lode device in what's regarded as one of the Mega Man series' best stories. Players are still begging Capcom for a proper sequel to this day, especially after the canceled third sequel for the Nintendo 3DS.

1 Spider-Man

Before Insomniac had the Marvel fans feverishly applauding for a proper Spider-Man game, the go-to studio for the webslinger used to be the defunct studio Neversoft, who was also behind the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. Considering their work on Tony Hawk, Neversoft seemed like the perfect studio at the time to produce a 3D Spider-Man game.

Licensed games had a terrible reputation during this time, but Neversoft put a lot of care into Spider-Man. From successfully capturing the hero's abilities in a 3D space, to the fan service costumes gamers could unlock, Spider-Man is easily the ultimate N64 game for any Marvel fans.
