'Ninjago' Assembles 'Tron: Uprising' Director

There's an Uprising brewing in LEGO Land.

Heat Vision reports that Charlie Bean, director of Disney XD's Tron: Uprising animated series, will make his feature-film debut as the director of Ninjago, the upcoming adaptation of the ninja and samurai-studded LEGO toy line. It's the second LEGO-centric movie in development at Warner Bros., with The LEGO Movie scheduled for release on February 7, 2014.

Bean will direct from a script written by Dan and Kevin Hageman, brothers who received a "story by" credit on The LEGO Movie. The story of the Ninjago film reportedly deviates from the one featured in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, the Cartoon Network series that the Hagemans wrote as well.

There is no production start or release date for Ninjago at this time.
