As part of DC's new Infinite Frontier publishing initiative, the company is asking fans to name Dick Grayson's new puppy that was introduced in Nightwing #78 by writer Tom Taylor and artist Bruno Redondo.
"As you saw in the latest issue of Nightwing (2021) #78, there's a new furry friend in town," the DC Universe Infinite press release reads. "But Nightwing's heroic 3-legged puppy needs a name. Can you help Dick choose the best one?"
Amongst the names available for fans to vote on include Haley, Shadow, Blue and Hope. DC is giving fans a whole week to decide on the puppy's new name on a poll posted on the DC Universe Infinite forum. The popular vote will be revealed after the poll closes.
The puppy first appeared in the opening pages of Nightwing #78, in which the pup was being chased by a group of teenaged boys who were looking to torture the poor creature "for fun." The puppy was saved when Nightwing intervened to "teach the boys a hard lesson" against bullying and torturing small animals. After chasing away the boys, Nightwing decided to care for the puppy by bringing it back home to his apartment.
Nightwing #78 is now on sale from DC.
