With the Nightwing movie joining the Man of Steel sequel as part of the most recent DC Extended Universe’s updated film slate, director Chris McKay has once again reassured fans that a progress report on the film would be forthcoming in February. Now, it seems that Nightwing lovers can actually look forward to this on Valentine's Day.RELATED: RUMOR: DCEU Gets An Updated Movie SlateIn response to a fan on Twitter asking for a status update after McKay previously hinted to expect news next month, McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) wrote, "it's too early to talk about casting but in February... say around Valentine's Day maybe... I should have an update about where everything is with the first NIGHTWING movie!!"

While it doesn't appear fans will be getting casting news, they'll be eager to at least get some direction in terms of plot. McKay recently had to downplay chatter that Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery had been cast as Grayson, but he did reveal he had a “crazy great” script and cast a “wide net” to find the right person to play Batman’s protege.

“No one has been cast yet. We are taking our time,” McKay wrote. “We are going to cast a wide net…because we need to find the perfect person. We need to get the script right. We need this to movie to blow your mind.” With Matt Reeves' Batman solo film also in the works, it awaits to be seen just how connected both films will be, especially as the future of Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight is still up in the air.

Warner Bros. has yet to announce a release date for Nightwing.
