Nightwing Director Promises Production Update in Early 2018

Despite the absence of Nightwing from the DC Extended Univers’s’ updated film slate, director Chris McKay assures fans he’ll have some news early next year.

In response to a question about the development from a fan on Twitter, McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) wrote, “I would expect to be able to tell you more concrete info on our movies progress around February.”

Nightwing, Deathstroke and planned films headlined by Harley Quinn and Joker were missing from the upcoming features showcased over the weekend by Warner Bros. at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

McKay recently had to downplay rumors that Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery had been cast as Dick Grayson. However, he indicated he was working with a “crazy great” script and that he had cast a “wide net” to find the right person to play Batman’s protege.

Warner Bros. has yet to announce a release date for Nightwing.
