DC's "Infinite Frontier" promises a fresh new start for all of its iconic heroes, including the Bat-Family. Nightwing, especially, seems to be starting over by returning to Blüdhaven under a new creative team.

In this exciting new era, Dick Grayson has a chance to reunite with one of his most iconic partners: Damian Wayne. Dick and Damian first came together when Batman was presumed dead. Indeed, Bruce Wayne vanished at the end of "Final Crisis," leaving the mantle of Batman empty. Taking up his mentor's title, Dick became Gotham's new Dark Knight. Of course, Dick wouldn't be Batman without his very own Robin. Bruce's son, Damian, came to Gotham in an attempt to connect with his father.

With Bruce gone, Damian was left to his own devices. The young assassin was arrogant, impetuous and above all, dangerous. Seeking to guide and nurture Damian, Dick decided to make him the new Robin. While there were some growing pains with this new Dynamic Duo, Damian came to begrudgingly respect Dick as the new Batman. Dick taught Damian how to be the new Robin, using his own experience. Over time, Dick came to be like an older brother to Damian, connecting with him in a way that Bruce never could.

As Batman and Robin, Dick and Damian faced new threats such as Professor Pyg and Doctor Hurt. At the same time, old foes such as the Red Hood, the Joker and even Damian's mother, Talia, reemerged. The Dynamic Duo conquered all of their challenges and even stayed together after Batman returned. While Bruce ran Batman Incorporated, Dick and Damian protected Gotham together.

In "the New 52," Dick returned to his role as Nightwing, while Batman returned to Gotham alongside Damian as Robin. Although no longer partners, Nightwing and Robin shared a special bond, teaming-up on several occasions when Batman wasn't available. Additionally, when Damian tried to defeat the previous Robins, Nightwing didn't fight him, telling Damian he didn't have to prove anything to the Bat-Family.

Right before Damian was killed, he and Nightwing teamed up one last time, with Robin affirming that "we were the best, Richard. No matter what anyone thinks." Dick took Damian's death harder than almost anyone, mourning his surrogate brother. Later on, when Dick faked his death to work for Spyral, Damian returned to life. Once Dick returned to Gotham, he and Damian had a deeply touching reunion. While the rest of the Bat-Family was outraged that Dick lied to them about his death, Damian was just happy to see him alive.

During the "Rebirth" era, Nightwing and Robin maintained their tight-knit relationship. The old Dynamic Duo teamed-up to face their previous villains Doctor Hurt and Professor Pyg, along with Nightwing's evil counterpart, Deathwing. No matter the time period, Dick and Damian made an iconic duo.

Given the great potential of "Infinite Frontier," there is a huge opportunity to reunite Nightwing and Damian. Nightwing is getting a new creative team, following his restoration from his "Ric Grayson" persona. Returning to Blüdhaven with his memories intact, it seems that Dick is going to reconnect with Bat-Family members such as Barbara Gordon. In the spirit of reconnecting, it's the perfect time for Dick and Damian to spend time together.

Damian, in particular, could use a fresh start alongside Nightwing. Since he's no longer Robin, yet still a member of the Bat-Family, Damian is left in an awkward position. Tensions are high with Damian and Batman, so perhaps Dick could help the former Robin find his place in the world.

No one has complemented Damian as well as Dick, so if anyone can guide him along a new path, it's Nightwing. Dick showed Damian how to be Robin, meaning he could likely guide Damian to become his own man, separate from Batman. Dick was successful as both Robin and Nightwing, so Damian would once more have a good role model for his journey.
