Two decades after Warner Bros. famously shelved plans for Tim Burton's Superman Lives, star Nicolas Cage will finally get his shot at the Man of Steel.

The actor will voice Superman in the animated Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, joining recently announced celebrity cameos by singer/songwriter Halsey as Wonder Woman and rapper Lil Yachty as Green Lantern.

A Superman super-fan -- he even named his son Kal-El -- Cage was set to star in one of Hollywood's great what-could-have-beens, as Warner Bros. infamously pulled the plug on Superman Lives as it neared production. Fan interest remained so intense over the years that a documentary about the film, The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?, was released in 2015.

Arriving in theaters on July 27, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies features series stars Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Hynden Walch as Starfire, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy and Tara Strong as Raven, joined by Kristen Bell and Will Arnett.

In Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, Robin realizes superheroes have received films before they have. Furious at this injustice, he takes the other Titans to Hollywood in the hopes of getting them the big-screen treatment they deserve. Kristen Bell plays the Hollywood director who’s poised to give the Teen Titans their big break.
