Halloween 2020 may be over, but Nicolas Cage is already poised to take center stage in the upcoming horror movie Willy's Wonderland, expected for theatrical and VOD release next year.

The film stars Cage as an unassuming drifter who takes up a job as a nighttime janitor at an abandoned family entertainment center in the vein of Chuck E. Cheese. One night, the facility's eight animatronics come to life and stalk him through the darkened halls, with the janitor teaming up with a group of trespassing teens for a bloody fight for survival against the murderous machines.

The film more than slightly resembles the central premise of the popular survival horror game franchise Five Nights at Freddy's, which has players evade deadly animatronics at night in a pizza parlor. Blumhouse founder and prolific horror movie producer Jason Blum confirmed this year that the franchise is still planned to receive its own film adaptation.

Principal photography on Willy's Wonderland took place earlier this year in Atlanta, with filmmaker Kevin Lewis at the helm.

Directed by Kevin Lewis from a screenplay by G.O. Parsons, Willy's Wonderland stars Nicolas Cage, Emily Tosta, Beth Grant, Caylee Cowan and Ric Reitz. The film is slated for release in 2021.
