Nickelodeon dropped the first trailer for its SpongeBob Squarepants spinoff series, The Patrick Star Show.
"I have found my true porpoise!" Patrick says in the trailer as he prepares for his homemade television show. The trailer also features new and familiar characters, including Patrick's best friend SpongeBob, his little sister Squidina Star and a dinosaur that looks suspiciously like Squidward Tentacles. The Patrick Star Show premieres on Nickelodeon July 2021.
The 13 episodes series serves as a prequel to SpongeBob Squarepants and is the second spinoff of the Nickelodeon original series, with Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years being the first, which is currently airing on Paramount+.
Bill Fagerbakke will reprise his role as Patrick Star, with Tom Wilson as Cecil Star, Cree Summer as Bunny Star and Grandma Tentacles, Jill Talley as Squidina Star and Dana Snyder as GrandPat Star. Original voice cast members Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) will make appearances in the series as well.

The Patrick Star Show follows a younger Patrick Star living at home with his family, where he hosts his own show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom. His little sister, Squidina, works behind the scenes to make sure Patrick’s show is always running smoothly, while his parents, Bunny and Cecil and his grandpa, GrandPat, each support Patrick in their own hilariously absurd ways. The Star family’s unpredictable adventures often inform, integrate, and sometimes even interfere with Patrick’s TV show, but one thing is for sure: his bizarre life always makes for great television!
