More details are coming out about the upcoming Fairly OddParents revival Fairly Odder, including an official trailer and key art for the live-action/animation blended series.

The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder takes place years after the original series ended and follows Timmy Turner's cousin, Vivian "Viv" Turner, and her new stepbrother Roy Raskin. Just like the original, Fairly Odder is set in the fictional city of Dimmsdale, with the wise-cracking fairy godparents Wanda and Cosmo there to grant wishes and wreak havoc. 13-year-old Viv seeks Wanda and Cosmo's help in adjusting to a new home after her dad Ty relocates their family to reunite with his high school sweetheart Rachel Raskin. However, "witnessing the fairy transfer take place, Viv's charismatic new stepbrother, Roy, also inherits them, and the two siblings must take turns making wishes."

The trailer shows that the series will be mostly live-action with animation sprinkled in -- notably Wanda and Cosmo, who are animated identically to the original series. Viewers can catch a glimpse of an adult Timmy Turner, who -- based on his sweatshirt -- appears to be heading off to Princeton. "I want you to meet the two best things that have ever happened to me," he says to Viv, before opening up his backpack to reveal a stashed-away Wanda and Cosmo. The trailer features many nods to the Nickelodeon classic; "Guava juice, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake," Cosmo recites when an incredulous Viv asks if she can wish for whatever she wants. Fan-favorites like Jorgen Von Strangle will also be making their return, and possibly Tad and Chad if a poster of the two in Viv's room is any indication.

Paramount+ announced Fairly Odder in February 2021, with the show reportedly going into production that June. In November, showrunner and co-executive producer Christopher J. Nowak shared the first photo of the Fairly Odder cast.

This isn't the first time Paramount+ has revived a beloved Nickelodeon series; the streaming platform brought back iCarly last June and is also home to a Rugrats reboot, the SpongeBob spinoff series Kamp Koral, and an upcoming live-action Dora the Explorer series. This also isn't the first time that The Fairly OddParents has forayed into live-action. Drake Bell and Daniella Monet starred in three live-action Fairly OddParents movies that aired between 2011 and 2014 on Nickelodeon. Fairly Odder, however, appears to be the last animation-to-live-action adaptation in Nickelodeon's near future.

The Fairly OddParents was created by Butch Hartman and ran from 2001-2017 on Nickelodeon. Following the adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-intentioned, yet destructive, fairy godparents, the show was a massive success and racked up dozens of awards and Emmy nominations. Due to its immense popularity, the show was revived following its 2006 cancellation.

Fairly Odder stars Audrey Grace Marshall as Vivian “Viv” Turner, Tyler Wladis as Roy Raskin, Laura Bell Bundy as Rachel Raskin, Ryan-James Hatanaka as Ty Turner and Imogen Cohen as Zina Zacarias. Long-time viewers will be pleased to hear that Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris, the original voices of Cosmo and Wanda, are lending their unmistakable voices to the revival.

All 10 seasons of the original Fairly OddParents are streaming on Paramount+. Fairly Odder is set to arrive on the streaming platform on Thursday, March 31.
