Marvel Comics' 2099 future is making a comeback in a big way to end out the year. The publisher released a checklist of 2099 one-shots in its November 2019 solicitations, and now it has begun to reveal the covers for those titles, highlighted by the return of Spider-Man 2099.
According to Marvel.com, Spider-Man 2099 #1 "will follow this universe's Spider-Man Miguel O'Hara as he struggles to save the Marvel Universe from an uncertain future." Nick Spencer, the current writer on Amazing Spider-Man, will pen the one-shot, with Jose Carlos Silva providing the art.
Spider-Man 2099 made a surprise return in Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man #25, with Miguel O'Hara crashing down to Earth after suffering a brutal attack. The caption on the page stated the future is dying, which is more than likely behind Marvel's 2099 event.
While Amazing Spider-Man #25 was the last we saw of Spider-Man 2099, November's issues #33-34 bring him back into the fold.
