Nick Cannon’s School Gyrls Rock Archie Comics

Official Press Release

Archie Comics, home of the world-famous band, The Archies, features Nick Cannon’s hit teen band, School Gyrls, in the upcoming issue, Archie #607. The story, “Gyrl Crazy,” follows Mandy Rain, Jacque Nimble, and Mo Money of the School Gyrls with Archie and the rest of the gang as they escape one close call after another! The exclusive issue hits shelves March 24th, 2010 and is free to download from iTunes starting March 23rd through the Archie News blog or by searching “Archie 607” in the iTunes store.

“As a longtime Archie Comics fan, it’s fun to be involved in one of their stories,” says TeenNick chairman Nick Cannon, “and I’m sure it will be a hit!”

In the upcoming story “Gyrl Crazy,” the School Gyrls’ tour bus breaks down and it’s a stroke of luck when Archie becomes host to the all-girl pop trio and invites them to jam with his band, The Archies. But as they play on, a series of suspicious mishaps continues to put everyone in greater danger and it’s a race to solve the mystery before the Gyrls’ luck runs out!

Created by TeenNick chairman and America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon, Island Def Jam Records recording artists the School Gyrls are today’s hot “gyrl” power music sensation. February’s Nickelodeon network premiere of the School Gyrls’ self-titled movie was co-written by Cannon and marked his directorial debut. The School Gyrls’ debut album will be released March 23rd, and to celebrate, Archie Comics will be offering Archie #607 as a free app download from iTunes.
