Reports concerning a Quiet Place spinoff project emerged in 2021, with some revealing production troubles, including a change in directors. Filmmaker Jeff Nichols was originally attached to the project, but departed late last year. While details are scarce, Nichols and Paramount Pictures reportedly parted ways "amicably." Replacing him is director Michael Sarnoski, who took to the helm earlier this year. No release date has yet been announced for the spinoff.

On top of A Quiet Place: Day One, Paramount is also developing a third instalment in the main story. In February, it was announced that A Quiet Place III was in the works. Actor, director and writer John Krasinski is still reportedly involved in the third installment's production, though not in the same capacity as its predecessors. In addition, A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled to release sometime in 2025.

A Quiet Place made waves upon its release in 2018. Krasinksi's horror film followed the Abbott family as they tried to survive in a world dominated by powerful, blind aliens who hunted by sound alone. The film was produced on a budget of $17 million and grossed $341 million at the box office. It was widely praised by critics and audiences, resulting in the eventual release of a sequel. A Quiet Place II continued the story of the Abbott family, shedding light on the alien invasion and the first moments of the alien takeover. The conclusion saw humans discover and weaponise high-pitched frequencies in order to weaken the alien creatures and make them vulnerable enough to be killed.

There haven't been many details released about A Quiet Place III. Krasinksi himself previously teased, "Is it going to continue the Abbotts? Who knows!" He added, "No, I will tell you that it is... I'm really excited about the third installment because it's going to do something that we haven't done before."
