New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern assured the children of her nation that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are considered essential workers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.In a news conference on Monday, Ardern told reporters, "You'll be pleased to know that we do consider both the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny to be essential workers." Ardern offered suggestions to kids and their families to help the Easter Bunny with its rounds. With a smile, she told children, "You can create your own Easter hunt for all the children in your neighborhoods." She recommended that residents of homes that have put teddy bears in front-facing windows to "maybe draw an Easter egg and pop it into your front window."

New Zealand has been under its strictest stay-at-home restrictions since March 25. According to Johns Hopkins University, per CNN, the country has just one confirmed death and 1,106 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Monday.
