It's time to duel -- again. The card-battle saga "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is getting a new anime series, Crunchyroll reports. The new anime is set to premiere sometime in Spring 2017, so the currently running "Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V" is expected to end by then. This iteration of the series will apparently address the anxieties of children in the digital age. It will target those who "give up on their dreams before actually trying," instead encouraging kids to find confidence in trying new things. The "Yu-Gi-Oh!" universe's new hero will be Yusaku Fujiki, a painfully shy boy who will slowly grow through his experiences and the people he meets through duels. The official twitter for "Yu-Gi-Oh!" tweeted out the first look of Yusaku.

While most of us stateside are probably on familiar with the original "Yu-Gi-Oh!" animated series that ran from 2000-2004, this latest installment will be the 6th series in the card-duel epic. Since then, the world has gone far beyond Yugi and his friends (though it's kept his namesake and, judging by the image above, particularly vibrant and spiky hair for its protagonists). The show has spawned a nearly Pokemon-level set of merchandising based off the integral card game played within the show.
