October may be best known for its horror catalogue; however, there are plenty of thrillers to come, both in theaters and at home. From returning to the world of The Sopranos, to the conclusion of the current 007's story, October is not holding back this year when it comes to its thrillers, as they spawn a wide array of decades and subgenres.

The Many Saints of Newark

The Sopranos remains one of the most impactful television shows in history, so it's no surprise that a spin-off would eventually develop. Instead of picking up where the controversial ending of the HBO series left off, The Many Saints of Newark will be a prequel focusing on Tony Soprano's childhood and what influenced him to become the mob boss so many TV fans know him as.

Titane

Premiering at Cannes Film Festival and earning the Palme d'Or, Titane finally will be accessible to a wider audience. From the trailer alone, Titane promises a lot of violence, action and thrills, along with some mystery, shock and body horror. In it, Alexia, a dancer turned killer is on the run.

Directed by Julia Ducournau, Titane stars Vincent lindon, Agathe Rousselle and Garance Marillier. It hits select theaters October 1.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated films of the year, No Time to Die is the end of Daniel Craig's time as 007. He's been playing this role since Casino Royale, back in 2006. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, No Time to Die kicks off with a Bond who's left his job as a spy; however, he cannot enjoy retirement for long, as a new threat comes to light, one whose plans could kill countless innocents.

Dopesick

Based on a book of the same name and inspired by a true story, Dopesick will explore America's opioid problem. It will cover multiple aspects of this issue. from the doctor's office, to big pharma boardrooms, to the DEA itself. With this star studded cast, Dopesick sets itself up to be an unconventional take on true crime.

Starring Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Will Poulter, Dopesick premieres October 13 on Hulu.

You Season 3

Netflix has had many popular series over the years, and You is one of the most notable in terms of the thriller genre. Told from the perspective of an obsessive, dangerous and delusional man, You follows Joe in his quest for love, but things don't work out for anyone involved with him. Season 2 ended with him getting the girl and a baby, but it seems like that's not enough for the deadly protagonist.

Starring Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti, You Season 3 hits Netflix October 15.

Directed by Ridley Scott, The Last Duel stars Jodie Comer, Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Ben Affleck. It hits theaters October 15.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Back in 1997, I Know What You Did Last Summer came out, blending classic slasher elements with a story that felt pulled straight from an urban legend. Over twenty years later, this teen flick is getting a reboot in the form of a streaming series. Similar to the original, this show will follow a group of teens one year after they accidentally murdered someone, as it seems like someone knows what happened and is hunting them down, setting up a classic whodunit story.

Edgar Wright has made a name for himself with his unique visual storytelling, as seen in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Baby Driver and his other films. This seems to continue with Last Night in Soho, a dark mystery which features an aspiring fashion designer who jumps between the present day and the '60s, getting a glimpse of the glamorous and tragic life of a singer.

Directed by Edgar Wright, Last Night in Soho stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie, Diana Rigg,  Matt Smith and Terence Stamp. It hits theaters October 29.
