Even though "Thor: Ragnarok" is still over a year away from arriving in theaters, we still know a bit about it. We know that the film will pair Thor (Chris Hemsworth) up with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and that the film will contain plenty of elements (and even props!) from the "Planet Hulk" storyline. Now, a few rumors given to Schmoes Know by unnamed sources reveal potentially even more about the Marvel movie's plot.

But before we get into those rumors, here's a warning for the potentially major spoilers ahead.

You good? Okay -- according the the unsourced rumors, "Thor: Ragnarok" will actually take place on a planet named Ragnarok. That planet will be home to the gladiator-style arenas run by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Fittingly, the rumor says Ragnarok will have a "'Gladiator' meets 'Mad Max' aesthetic."

In addition to the setting, the rumors state that Thor and Hulk will have to team up to break out of the arena and will come into conflict with one of Grandmaster's enforcers, Skurge (Karl Urban). Urban's take on the classic Thor villain is said to have a large role in the film and -- again, potential spoiler alert -- will actually assist Banner and Thor in getting off the planet. The pair of Avengers will also run into Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) in the arena, and she will become their ally.

Whether or not those rumors are true remains to be seen, and the detailed specifics of the arena plot still remain a mystery; it's not even clear if escaping the arena is the entire movie or just, say, act one or act two of a larger story. Seeing as how 2013's "Thor: The Dark World" ended with Loki (impersonating Odin) in charge of Asgard, it seems like that's a potential problem Thor and the Hulk would want to address -- meaning they have to make it back to Asgard at some point.

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Anthony Hopkins, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and more, “Thor: Ragnarok” opens on November 3, 2017.
