New 'Terminator Genisys' Trailer Completely Flips the Franchise Script

Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for "Terminator Genisys" packed with tons of new footage, including some that will have franchise fans rethinking everything they know about John Connor.

It turns out the changes to Sarah Connor's backstory, and her relationship to the T-800, aren't the only seismic shakeups to director Alan Taylor's reboot.

The film is billed as a remix of the 1984 original, with resistance leader John Connor (Jason Clarke of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) sending loyal soldier Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney of “Divergent”) from the post-apocalyptic future back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother Sarah (Emilia Clarke of “Game of Thrones”) from a Terminator programmed to kill her.

Opening July 1, “Terminator Genisys” also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Smith and Byung-Hun Lee. Watch the new trailer, as well as the latest television spot, below.
