As the animated series "Star Wars Rebels" explores the time in-between Episodes III and IV and Marvel tackles the time period between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back," StarWars.com has announced that a new mobile game -- "Star Wars: Uprising" -- will be set in the uncharted decades between "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens"

Working alongside the Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm, Kabam has developed a game that will allow players to create their own characters -- be they Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Rebel Guerilla, Diplomat, Gambler, etc. -- and witness "key events" of the newly-expanding Star Wars mythology. Players will do so by traveling around the Anoat Sector, a chunk of space that includes both Hoth and Bespin.

"Uprising" has also launched a website to coincide with the announcement, allowing potential players to pre-register ahead of the game's release. Pre-registering will allow fans to vote for content to be added to the mobile game and will also enter them in to win exclusive prizes, like a Stormtrooper helmet. The site also has a trailer for the game, which features individuals all over the galaxy reacting to the destruction of the second Death Star.

No release date has been announced for "Star Wars: Uprising," but beta testing is said to begin in the upcoming weeks.
