New Star Wars Novel Will Serve as Sequel to Rogue One


A new novel will serve as a sequel to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," about the revenge of the Empire over the theft of the Death Star's plans, according to StarWars.com. An upcoming novel called "Inferno Squad" by bestselling author Christie Golden will be following up on the anthology film on July 25, and tell the story of the elite squad of Imperial soldiers working to undermine the Resistance.

Here's the official description: "After the humiliating theft of the Death Star plans and the resulting destruction of the battle station, the Empire is on the defensive. In response to this stunning defeat, the Imperial Navy has authorized the formation of an elite team of soldiers, known as Inferno Squad. Their mission: infiltrate and eliminate the remnants of Saw Gerrera’s Partisans. Christie Golden is the bestselling author of 2015's "Star Wars: The Dark Disciple," as well as dozens of other novels set in the worlds of "Star Wars," "Star Trek" and "World of Warcraft." The novel is due to be released on July 25, 2017.
