Prevent the Apocalypse With Knock at the Cabin

M. Night Shyamalan returns with a new apocalyptic thriller, Knock at the Cabin. With a limited connection to the world outside the cabin, the family must figure out what's true and who to trust, even as they believe the world is being destroyed. Though little is known beyond the premise of the movie and the expectation of a Shyamalan-style twist at the end, Knock at the Cabin turns the idea of scientific catastrophe into a character-centered thriller that is sure to draw audiences in.

Explore Inner and Outer Space with Linoleum

On paper, Linoleum follows Cameron (Jim Gaffigan), the host of a failing children's science show that used to be enough of a scientific outlet. When the remains of a spacecraft land in his yard, Cameron takes the opportunity to rebuild it and take his scientific dreams from teaching to doing. Embedded in this plot, however, is a surrealist turn, marking Cameron's descent into midlife crises and estrangement from his wife and daughter. At the heart of Linoleum is not just rocket science but also a resilient and hopeful exploration of what gives life meaning. A darling of the SXSW 2022 film festival, Linoleum is likely the surprising genre jewel of February.

Linoleum comes to theaters Feb. 24.

We Have a Ghost Makes the Afterlife a Comedic Mystery

Despite its name, We Have a Ghost is no spooky thriller. Following a family that movies into a haunted house, the Netflix original film takes a turn for the comedic, leaning more into Ghostbusters territory. After unsuccessfully scaring the new family, the titular ghost instead teams up with them to figure out how he died -- and make a little digital content along the way. With a mostly silent David Harbour as the ghost himself, alongside Anthony Mackie, Jennifer Coolidge, and Tig Notaro, We Have a Ghost seems like a spectral mystery that is sure to leave audiences feeling good.

We Have a Ghost debuts on Netflix on Feb. 24.
