Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso recruits her team with some words of inspiration in the latest television promo for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

"We have hope," she says. "Rebellions are built on hope. ... Are you with me?" The answer, for most any "Star Wars" fan, is a resounding yes.

Directed by Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla"), the film is set just before the events of 1977's "Star Wars," as a team or resistance fighters undertake a dangerous mission to steal the plans for the Galactic Empire's deadly new weapon, the Death Star.

Jones is joined in the film by Diego Luna as Rebel Intelligence Officer Cassian Ando; Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic; Donnie Yen as blind spiritual warrior Chirrut Îmwe; Mads Mikkelsen as as Jyn's father Galen Erso; Alan Tudyk as Rebel-owned Imperial enforcer droid K-2SO; Jiang Wen as freelance assassin Baze Malbus; Riz Ahmed as ex-Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook; and Forest Whitaker as Clone Wars veteran Saw Gerrera.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens Dec. 15 in the United Kingdom and Dec. 16 in the United States.
