New Poster Debuts For The Smurfs

Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation have released another poster for the CGI/live-action adaptation of The Smurfs that transplants Peyo's beloved comic creations from medieval Europe to present-day New York City.

In the Raja Gosnell-directed movie, the wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) chases the little blue creatures out of their village and into a forbidden grotto, where they’re transported to the middle of Central Park. Fish-out-of-water hilarity presumably ensues.

The Smurfs boasts an interesting cast that includes Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf, Fred Armisen as Brainy Smurf, Katy Perry as Smurfette, Anton Yelchin as Clumsy Smurf, John Oliver as Vanity Smurf, Paul Reubens as Jokey Smurf, Alan Cumming as Gutsy Smurf, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf and Wolfgang Puck as Chef Smurf. In addition to the voice actors, the film features Jayma Mays, Neil Patrick Harris, Sofía Vergara and Tim Gunn. It opens in 3D on Aug. 3.
